Not so Secret Sister

Each week this month we are going to embark on a journey of giving a little bit of ourselves to our fellow sisters in the ministry.

A friend loveth at all times, and a [sister] is born for adversity. Proverbs 17:17

It is expected of each of us to love one another at all times, yet some of us hardly know each other, whether it is because of living distance or more simply because we have yet to sit down and learn each another.

The hope of this journey is to bring a bit more unity and discovry of one other to the forefront of our minds.

This is how the sisters in VA will be doing this for the rest of this month, week by week.

THEME OF THE MONTH:

A Sister Loveth (Proverbs 17:17)

PURPOSE:

To allow sisters to get to know you better by using your creativity through handmade items.

CHALLENGE:

Each week there will be a new project for sisters to create. If you choose to participate Shalamahya will give you a pouch with the project description for that week and a few items that will help you get started in creating it, you will have to add to it to make it more your style and more personal to you, the items given are just for an initial idea and to get you started.

Every pouch will have a random sister's name on it that you will be creating works of art for along with directions and instructions, if necessary. Once you have finished your item and gifted it to your preselected sister, you will have to give the pouch back to Shalamahya. If you would like to you can get another one from her with a new challenge and a new sister.

Each challenge must be completed that week, if you are not able to complete it for any reason please give the pouch back as well so another sister can complete it. If you have it in your heart to create for more than one sister during the week, there may be an opportunity to, just let me know and I will see if there are any sisters that are in need of love.

Week 3 (Sept 25th - Oct 1st): A Psalm Framed

Week 4 (Oct 2nd - Oct 8th): Worketh Willingly with her Hands

Week 5 (Oct 9th - Oct 15th): In Every Prayer of Mine

Week 6 (Oct 16th - Oct 22nd): Mouth of Wisdom

Week 7 (Oct 23rd - Oct 29th): Forsake not an old Friend

Thawadah to everyone who participated in the state and I pray everyone who joined in out of state had a fun time gifting to a sister near you! We will be back soon with another round of Secret (or not so secret) Sister.

In the meantime, we have to remember to be our sister's keeper and can never forget the second greatest commandment:

And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. - Matthew 22:39

We have to be mindful of the needs of those in the ministry with us as they may need compassion in their daily lives, and there are some that are not as blessed as others and may need a little more help.
